Other factors must also be employed to link design elements to the process model. Tolerances dictate processes as illustrated (Figure 3.14 and Figure 3.15) on the data relating tolerances and surface finish to specific processes. Tolerances and geometric tolerances are considered best treated as objects associated with geometric elements. Changing tolerances will not require the model to be reformulated and will only affect those modules that use tolerances as data.
